Types and characteristics of welding robots
Welding robots are mainly divided into various types based on their functions, application scenarios, and operating methods, each with its unique characteristics.
Arc welding robots are a common type in industrial welding, mainly used for connecting metal parts. According to different types of arcs, arc welding robots can be divided into gas shielded welding robots, manual arc welding robots, and tungsten inert gas welding (TIG) robots. Gas shielded welding robots use inert gas as a protective gas to avoid contact between the welding area and air, prevent oxidation, and are suitable for large-scale production in the automotive industry, shipbuilding industry, and other fields. The manual arc welding robot is flexible in operation and suitable for welding various metals and thicknesses. It is commonly used for small-scale production or maintenance work. TIG welding robots use non consumable tungsten electrodes for welding, suitable for high-precision welding requirements such as aerospace industry, nuclear industry, etc.
Spot welding robots are mainly used to weld two or more metal plates together at multiple points through heating and pressure, forming a strong connection, and are important equipment in the automotive manufacturing industry. Spot welding robots can be divided into fixed spot welding robots and mobile spot welding robots according to different application scenarios. Fixed spot welding robots are suitable for the production of large quantities and single workpieces, while mobile spot welding robots have mobility and can move between different workstations to adapt to various welding tasks.
In addition, there are various types of welding robots such as laser welding robots, friction welding robots, and filling welding robots. Laser welding robots use high-energy laser beams for welding, suitable for precision machining and high demand welding applications. Friction welding robots generate frictional heat between workpieces through high-speed rotating tools, causing plastic deformation of materials and mutual bonding, without the need for filling materials and protective gases. The welding process is environmentally friendly and energy-saving.
In summary, there are various types and characteristics of welding robots, which provide strong support for the development of modern industry.
